LOS ANGELES, CA — With the use of inlay and onlay cavity treatment, LA dentist Dr. Neda Naim is providing more durable cavity solutions than traditional fillings for single tooth and multiple tooth cavity treatment.
Inlays and onlays correct any tooth decay or cavities that form on either the points of a tooth (cusps) or the grooves in the center of the tooth. Whereas traditional dental fillings are placed on the damaged area and hardened with a UV light without any impressions, inlays and onlays are molded to the damaged area after impressions are taken. Using dental imagery for impressions and avoiding the use of potentially harmful UV light makes for a more precise cavity solution and does significantly less damage to the tooth.
“Fillings were a fine cavity treatment, but it has its faults,” exclaims Dr. Naim, one of California’s top LA dentists. “The point of cavity treatment is to stop tooth decay and save the natural tooth. But, while traditional fillings remove cavities, it can make a tooth up to 50% weaker. Inlays and onlays provide up to a 75% boost to a tooth’s stability and provide precisely fitted molds for teeth.” (more…)

BRENTWOOD, CA — When it comes to improving dental technology, there can be no bigger advancement than replacing the drills that have evoked fear out of dental patients for decades. Remarkably, the new technology not only replaces dental drills, it is completely opposite to a drill.
This technology, air abrasion treatment, utilizes the power of pressurized air to treat cavities by removing dental caries (tooth decay), plaque, and other harmful agents that wreak havoc on teeth. According to the Consumer Guide to Dentistry, a fine stream of particles is aimed at the damaged part of the tooth. The particles gently remove the tooth decay and the decay is harmlessly removed by suction.
The particles that remove tooth decay consist of silica and aluminum oxide or baking soda comments Dr. Neda Naim, Brentwood dentist, who has been using air abrasion technology for years at her Brentwood general dentistry practice. (more…)
